This morning, Google announced a pair of new partners for the Home platform that will bring even more variety to its stable of connected devices and better streamline our increasingly connected smart households: Honeywell and Belkin Wemo.
If you live in Silicon Valley, there is no one other than Nest, and in the unlikely event that you see an old thermostat, you regard it as a quaint relic of the past. One of the most likely candidates for that title is Honeywell. The company has been at the forefront of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) for the longest time. But, increasingly, incumbency does not equate to stability (just ask the taxi companies in the face of Uber and Lyft), and Honeywell is well aware of this.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.Icontrol added Honeywell, LG Electronics and other big names as integration partners in early January.
All Icontrol dealers can now connect devices from these partners. All of these integration's will be available for independent dealers on Icontrol One as well. The Icontrol One platform will embrace all of these members of the Icontrol developer program and the go-to-market solutions that we offer now and in the future, Roberts said.

Challenging Nest and Honeywell are three startups with different approaches to use your thermostat to save you money. Companies are rapidly launching smart thermostats to be not left behind. Honeywell the incumbent leader has a Smart Wifi thermostat & there is a smart thermostat from Nest, the fast emerging leader in the connected home space.
